On 19 June 2026, stakeholders gathered in Tangier for the final conference dedicated to the Regional Coastal Plan (SRL) of the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima Region. The event marked the culmination of an intensive participatory process and an important step towards putting integrated coastal zone management (ICZM) into practice in northern Morocco.
The final SRL documents, incorporating the comments and feedback received from stakeholders during the workshop held on 10 June, were presented and discussed. Particular attention was given to the Priority Action Plan, developed in line with the requirements of Morocco’s Coastal Law No. 81-12, the cartographic atlas, and the monitoring and evaluation framework.
PAP/RAC is delighted to have supported the finalisation of the SRL-TTA and to have contributed its expertise in integrated coastal zone management and coastal planning throughout the process.
With the technical work now completed, we are pleased to see the final SRL-TTA documents enter the formal administrative procedure with the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Morocco, first at regional and subsequently at national level. This next phase will be essential for strengthening interministerial coordination and advancing ICZM implementation in Morocco.
